Jack Johnson played his guitar to over 50,000 people at the Live Earth Concert last week. Although not spending much time talking about the cause, most of Jacks songs are about surfing, fishing and the outdoors. He did however make one reference to a website supporting the live earth cause.

With an interesting past Johnson was originally a professional surfer until he had a nasty accident at Pipeline where he received over 150 stitches to his forehead and mouth as well as losing a bunch of his front teeth.

Alex Cowell was the man that taught Jack Johnson how to surf (he was Jacks fathers best friend). Alex also taught Jack to play the guitar at age 14. Its quite interesting to note that Jack Johnson dedicates all his songs to Alex.
